Every aspect of the Mount Horeb ministry provides an opportunity to establish relationships with families in the community. These relationships have become the open door for us to demonstrate God’s love in word and deed.

Education

Beginning with infants four months old, a nursery is available, as well as a Kindergarten and an elementary school, with an emphases on establishing a Christian foundation for life. Our school integrates children from all social & economical levels allowing the building of stronger ties of brotherhood between these very different groups in the community. Special Education Classes:  Basic computer courses, language studies, handcrafts and other life giving skills are offered to both teens and adults of the poor families that have dropped out of school too soon, and now want to pick up their education again.

Agriculture

Experimental crops are being developed to help the mission become financially autonomous, with future plans to involve and teach many of the poor farmers in the region to diversify and plant quick cash crops as an option.

Community

Mount Horeb is involved in every aspect of community life and partners with other likeminded organizations that work toward the betterment of the community.  Operating small business to help finance the ministry, as well as providing many jobs for the local people is an important aspect in the development of the community.

Health Care

A dental clinic providing oral health for the community at large, has a staff of nine dentists and three assistants. Besides providing free dental treatment for the poor children in our care, the clinic also provides a very essential service for the community at greatly reduced rates.  Concentrating on prevention (rather than cure.) A medical clinic has now been added and several doctors come and serve on a regular bases, giving their time to care for the sick.  The donation of a ‘mobile medical and dental clinic’ makes it possible to go into the rural areas with a team of eight volunteers and serve the impoverished farming communities by providing dental care, teaching oral health, personal hygiene, nutrition, sanitation, assistance the children with their school assignments, and doing home evangelism.   

Spiritual

Providing a place of worship where people from all walks of life are made welcome, and where new converts receive discipleship training and care from the church family as they become established in their walk with the Lord. Being financially independent from the Mount Horeb mission they are learning that the ' great commission' is their responsibility to their own community. Holding evangelistic meetings in local homes, baptizing all new converts and teaching them to believe and observe all things that Jesus taught. This local church provides teaching and opportunities of service for the whole family.

Physical

Organizing a soccer club for boys from ages 9 to 17, in order to help develop their talents and skills. Involving local business people in financing this venture has helped establish a sense of responsibility in the community. Included in this program are special events in art, culture and entertainment.  This helps meet the social needs of young people in the community and helps keep them from becoming involved in the drug scene and petty crime.
