Where we work
Brazil
Mount Horeb Training Center, SAM Ministries' agent in Brazil, is a registered non-profit organization. Located in a poor municipality within a relatively prosperous state, its mission is to serve the community by addressing various needs.
Since 1984, the center has focused on meeting physical, spiritual, and emotional needs, prioritizing human development and community involvement. Initially, it aimed to improve living standards and education for underprivileged children by employing local workers and utilizing available resources. Homes were built, and homeless and abandoned children were cared for—some of whom now contribute to the mission's work.
The organization continues to implement programs in education, youth sports and recreation, health, vocational training, and rural development.
Mozambique
SAM Ministries’ agent in Mozambique, Associação Amor Moçambique (ASAM), is a nationally registered non-profit organization. Its mission is to love God and to love and serve the people of Mozambique by empowering them spiritually, physically, and economically to teach and support their own communities.
The mission base, a 2,350-acre farm in Manica Province, was acquired in 2004 to support training and development initiatives. Infrastructure development is ongoing to accommodate various programs (see Mozambique Projects). While much of the work is centred in Manica, extension training has expanded into four central provinces: Manica, Sofala, Tete, and Zambezia.
As we address the many day-to-day challenges facing Mozambicans, our strategy is to focus on the training and development of leaders who can impact many more than we can individually, and to focus on the care and development of children who without a doubt will have the greatest impact on the future success of Mozambique and her people.
